Monday Makerie {#26}

Good morning lovelies!

How was your weekend? It was a bit hectic here in Malta … We had the general election going on! Apart from that we had some really nice weather all weekend, which had me pining for summer.

Today I’ll be sharing another Easter-related DIY … A project that could easily be translated into sweet favors for an Easter wedding.

The idea is to put a message inside an egg, and then have the guests crack it to receive a personalised message. It is also a sweet present for an Easter lunch or for your kids. Head on over to Oh! Party for the full tutorial.

In Love with … Plaid

Plaid is on my mind lately … I have been seeing many plaid outfits on the Fall runways, which made me think of ways how to incorporate plaid in weddings. Personally, I think that the trick is not to go overboard but to include little details.

My absolute favourite has to be the styling of that gorgeous dress!

Monday Makerie {#25}

Hello lovelies!

How was your weekend? I’ve tried to take it easy to further recover from last week’s ordeal … I have to say thank you for all the message of well wishes and concern!

In the meantime the countdown to Easter continues. I have to admit that I was never a big fan of Easter, until I had kids that is. This year, now that my little one can really understand what’s going on, I’m planning an Easter egg hunt. While researching for some ideas, I found these free printables for an Easter Hunt Brunch, which I thought I would share …

Apart from the placemat, the printable also includes some beautiful placetags where you have space to write three clues for your guests to decipher to find their own little Easter treasure! Today’s wedding dress comes from a real wedding that I spotted this week on b.loved! It’s no secret that I’m in love with past eras, and I’m in love with brides who opt to go for vintage dresses.

Isn’t that dress spectacular? I love the lace detailing … and what about those sleeves?

Portfolio: Bohemian Glam (Wedding DAY August 2012)

Good morning lovelies!

As you read this I will be jetting off to London … I simply cannot wait for this weekend to start where I will be meeting many fabulous brides looking to getting married in Malta and Gozo. So it goes without saying that the shoot I’m going to show you today is perfect … it showcases what you get here in Malta – fabulous beaches and awesome views.

I styled this shoot for the summer edition of Wedding DAY magazine, and we decided to go with Bohemian Glam, which essentially means mixing natural elements with man-made ones, often of a more glamorous nature. The shoot took place in Golden Bay, and the colours I used were inspired by the colours that the beach takes on at sunset.  There were pops of Tangerine Tango, which also happened to be the Pantone colour of the year. With a base of neutrals and succulent green, there were pops of bright and high-energy colours. Photography, as always is by Jessica Moritz.

How gorgeous is the model (who is also a photographer by the way) Katerina. Her dress by Wedding Bells, is a perfect example of a Bohemian Glamorous wedding gown with its empire waist and the rhinestone embellishment details under the bust and on the straps. We accessorized it with large designer earrings, available from Wedding Bells as well. Hairstylist Marie Claire created soft waves with a braid across her forehead for that bohemian look. Makeup artist Daniela Cassar did a very summery natural look.

Joseph Baldacchino from Flower Arts created a vibrant bouquet with roses, gloriosa, craspedia, coral flowers and succulents. The arch was decorated with twigs and colourful flowers, which we then circled with crystal tealight candle holders (available from Charming Diva).

I’ve always been a huge fan of Josh Groban, and his latest album ‘All That Echoes’ certainly doesn’t disappoint. I’m loving the single ‘Brave’ from his album … it’s not really suited to weddings but I’m loving the message.

In Love with … Wedding DAY

Hello lovelies!

Apologies for the late post today. As most of you might know, the anniversary issue of Wedding DAY magazine is out.

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since the first issue … it’s been a great year, meeting and working with like-minded professionals. To celebrate, the editors Jessica and Josanne organised a special celebratory shoot.

Can you tell how much fun we had during the shoot? There are some insights from the whole cover shoot team, including yours truly . As for the cover shoot, we went country – perfect inspiration for a free-spirited bride.
